解码中国丨艺术浸润的茶乡

对于外文出版社荣誉英文主编大卫·弗格森而言，在杭州外桐坞村的体验是生平第一次。这座有156户农户的小村庄，主要以文化艺术作为发展的重点。

To David W. Ferguson, honorary chief English editor at Foreign Languages Press, the visit to Waitongwu was a brand-new experience. This small village of 156 farming households now focuses its activities on cultural development.

2007年，一位来自中国美术学院的教师被外桐坞村和周围的山丘吸引，在村里设了一个工作室。自此以后，艺术家开始源源不断地来到这里，为这个村庄注入了新的活力。现在，外桐坞工作和生活着大约200名艺术家。他们的工作室又催生出大量的相关业态，包括画廊、茶室、咖啡馆和精品酒店，让这个村庄逐渐成为艺术家和艺术爱好者的一座灯塔。

In 2007, a teacher from China Academy of Arts established a workshop in Waitongwu, appealed to its overall environment. This was the first of what became a steady flow of artists to Waitongwu, injecting a new vitality into the village. Waitongwu now hosts a population of around 200 artists. The artists’ studios attracted a surge of associated activities-galleries, tea rooms, cafes and boutique hotels, making the village a beacon for artists and art enthusiasts.
