Elies Molins: we are in the same direction in green development

The 2024 Green Low-Carbon Innovation Conference opened in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 15. Nearly 300 representatives from scientists, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists at home and abroad attended the event.

8月15日，2024绿色低碳创新大会在浙江省湖州市开幕。海内外顶尖科学家代表，以及来自国际科技组织、国内外知名高校、全国学会、绿色低碳领域科技企业和创投机构的近300位科学家、企业家、创投家代表出席。

Elies Molins, co-president of the World Federation of Scientific Workers, stated that China had remarkable achievements in promoting ecological civilization construction in recent years. This is manifested in the increasing urban greening and the awakening of public environmental awareness. Recycling and reuse practices have flourished, water pollution control has yielded notable results, and a comprehensive reduction in pollution sources has become a consensus.

世界科技工作者联合会联合主席埃利斯·莫林斯表示，近年来，中国已在生态保护这条道路上迈出坚实步伐，中国在推动生态文明建设上的努力有目共睹，成效显著，这不仅体现在城市绿化的日益增强，更渗透于公众环保意识的觉醒。回收再利用、水资源污染控制成效显著，全方位削减污染源已经成为共识。

"Due to varying resources and developmental stages, countries will have different timelines for achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. International cooperation is essential, as individual efforts alone are inadequate to tackle global challenges, while collaboration leads to more efficient problem-solving. We need help to develop developed nations and also enable underdeveloped regions to achieve the goal. We are in the same boat and have to go in the same direction," said Molins.

莫林斯说，“各国由于各自资源与发展阶段的不同，达成碳达峰与碳中和目标的时间表也不尽相同。但国际合作是至关重要的，单打独斗难以应对全球性挑战，携手并进才能高效解决问题。既要促进发达国家的发展，也要助力欠发达地区达到目标。我们都在同一条船上，必须朝着同一个方向前进。”
