The signage design for the 19th Asian Games and the fourth Asian Para Games was released on March 26, local media outlets reported.
A fundamental part of the Games' visual image system, the signs will direct athletes, visitors, and vehicles at different sports venues and functional areas and create an athletic atmosphere during the event.
The signs will be mainly located around sports venues and include vehicle traffic signs, pedestrian guide signs, functional area signs, and public information signs.
They were designed by a team led by Professor Zhou Feng of the Chinese Academy of Art. The design was inspired by the tides of the Qiantang River, which represent the vigor and vitality of life, and cong, a jade piece that forms a quadrangle tube with a circular inner section. As the most typical type of artifact being unearthed in the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, cong represents Chinese etiquette and strong sportsmanship.
