The Zhedong Canal, a stroke of thick ink marking time. Hello everyone, I am Jian Rui, hailing from Zhejiang Yuexiu University. The theme I want to share with you today is : Zhedong Canal - A Flowing Memory.

一条浙东运河，一笔浓墨岁月。今天想和大家分享的主题是：浙东运河--- 动的记忆。

The Zhedong Canal , which originated from the ancient waterway of Shanyin in the Spring and Autumn period starting from Hangzhou's Xixing in the west to Ningbo in the east through Shaoxing before entering the sea, converging into a flowing cultural line and economic corridor.

起源春秋时期山阴故水道的浙东运河，西起杭州西兴，向东经绍兴至宁波入海，汇聚成一条流动的文化线和经济带。

I hope I can take my descendants to see the canal and share its history and stories with them, instead of having nowhere to see and nothing to say." Residents on both sides said. For them, the canal leaves them a solid "people's memory" instead of an empty record in history.

“我希望自己能带子孙后辈去看运河，能同他们说说运河的历史和故事，而不是无处可看、无话可说。”两岸的居民这样说。对于世世代代居住在运河两岸的居民来说，运河留给他们的不是历史上空洞的记载，而是实实切切的“人民记忆”。

The narrative commences with a boat and extends to a canal, having undergone thousands of years of development, nurturing the people on both sides of banks, and exporting treasures such as blue china, silk, tea, and Huangjiu through the maritime Silk Road. The present narrative unfolds around landmarks like the Bazi Qiao Bridge, Cangqiao Street, the hometown of Saint of Calligraphy, and Cai Yuanpei's former residence, where ancient relics are tucked away in ordinary residences, serving as storytellers of canal culture in the contemporary era. Looking ahead, with the further implementation of the “Double Eight Strategy”， the happiness and well-being of the people are significantly improving, and the ancient canal is experiencing a rejuvenation with new vitality. 

故事的开始是一条船，再到一条运河，经历了数千年的发展，养育了两岸的人民，并由海上丝绸之路向外输出了青瓷，丝绸，茶叶，黄酒等越地风物。故事的现在是八字桥，仓桥直街，书圣故里，蔡元培故居，等古迹藏在寻常民居里，成为运河文化在当下的讲述者。故事的未来是随着“八八战略”的深入实施人民生活幸福水平显著提高，古老运河正焕发出新的生机。
