Voices across languages: stories of the Grand Canal

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the inclusion of China's Grand Canal as a World Cultural Heritage site. 

Students from 17 language majors at Zhejiang Yuexiu University have used 17 languages to narrate the grand stories of the canal to the world.

绍兴，这座城市的脉动与灵魂，源自绵延流淌的浙东运河，亦兴盛于这条生生不息的水上命脉。水波涟涟，润物无声。千百年来，浙东运河日夜不息，流淌至今；绍兴，在运河的滋养、岁月的打磨下，愈加璀璨。

2024年是中国大运河被列入世界文化遗产十周年，浙江越秀外国语学院与绍兴越城区合作，共同发起了一场以“多语种讲运河故事”为主题的宣讲活动，来自浙江越秀外国语学院17个语种的外语专业学生，用17国语言向世界讲述运河的辉煌故事，传递运河文化独特魅力。
